She works with PFLAG chapters, develops Straight for Equality’s online presence, and works to promote Straight for Equality’s new materials such as Straight for Equality in Healthcare, Straight for Equality in Faith Communities, and the guide to being a trans ally. Since 2012 she also has helped to manage the PFLAG Academy Online program.

Prior to her time at PFLAG she completed two internships while in college with the Richmond Peace Education Center and Hope in the Cities. While working with the Peace Center, she worked on initial research for the organization’s “Peace Curriculum” and organized a forum called “Torture and the War on Terror.” At Hope in the Cities, her work was primarily focused on aiding in the development of The Connecting Communities Fellowship Program.

She attended Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA, where she majored in Political Science and International Studies with a concentration in Social Justice Studies. She also received her Master’s Degree in Political Science from George Mason University.

Jamie lives in Portland, OR with her two cats and enjoys day hiking and everything else that the Pacific Northwest has to offer.
