PFLAG National mourns the loss of Carmen Vázquez, a social justice legend who died from complications due to COVID-19.

“Carmen sought justice for LGBTQ+ people and immigrants with courage, tenacity, and intelligence,” said Diego M. Sanchez, APR, Vázquez’ longtime friend and PFLAG National’s Director of Advocacy, Policy, and Partnerships. “I’ve loved her for more than 30 years. Her legacy will live for generations because she coached as well as coaxed, taught and persuaded.”
