Privacy Policy
PFLAG National has multiple safeguards to protect the privacy of our members and supporters.
On-line Data
PFLAG National does not capture any personally identifiable data about users of our web site, unless the user voluntarily provides information required to make an online donation or join the PFLAG email list. PFLAG National may use this information for subsequent donor contact, including confirmations, acknowledgment letters, and relevant information or updates via email. Recipients of email newsletters, action alerts, etc. may unsubscribe at any time by clicking on the “unsubscribe” link located in each mailing.
How Do We Protect Your Information?
Our website’s security measures protect against the loss, misuse, or alteration of the information provided to PFLAG National. Encryption is used to ensure the security of donor’s personal and financial information during the transaction of online donations. Our server and database is located in a locked, secure environment and routinely tested for security weaknesses and vulnerabilities to satisfy credit-card and personal data Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance requirements. Donating via our website is the quickest, most secure way to make your gift to PFLAG National.
Use of Data by Third Parties
From time to time, PFLAG National does rent or exchange mail (street address) lists to like-minded, progressive organizations through bonded third-party vendors. List rental and exchange is a source of direct income but more importantly provides reciprocal list access vital to increasing our member base. Because we use bonded third-party vendors, the organizations never directly receive personally identifiable information. PFLAG does not exchange information about chapter members.
Members and donors may request that their records be flagged as follows:
- “Do not exchange”: To be excluded from any list rentals or exchanges or from any messages sent by PFLAG on behalf of such organizations.
- “No mail of any kind”: To opt out of all communications from PFLAG.
Requests to opt out of mailings as noted above, or any other questions about how collected data is used, can be submitted in any of the following ways:
